• Local Knowledge

As the name suggests, this little loop is renowned for cutting even the most-seasoned of quads.

Camp Mountain is home to lesser-run, rugged and steep trails of the D'Aguilar National Park on the northern side of Mt. Nebo Road. The most infamous of its trails is the Chainsaw. You can add a trip to Chainsaw into a longer run or head out for laps if vert is your thing.

Starting at the Camp Mountain car park, head past the viewpoint on your left, and run towards the Sutton Court Circuit where you can briefly enjoy views of the city before you switchback onto the downward trail. Head downhill for approximately 900m where you take the trail on your left, steeply down. Keep bearing left on the Pony Poo track until 2.5kms where you turn your efforts to going up. And up. And up. When you make it to the top, take a left after the gate to arrive back at the start.

    Another lap, anyone?

    Pro Tips

    1. This loop is little less sketchy if you tackle it anti-clockwise.
    2. Stock your car as an aid station to refuel at between laps.
    3. Laps are more fun with friends.
    4. Poles can help to tackle the vert.

    Enjoy the run.
